CONGRATULATIONS YEAR 11!

Congratulations and well done to our Year 11 students on their GCSE results today! We were delighted that so many did extremely well, and their success is hugely deserved.

It was fantastic to see so many happy and delighted students collecting their results and we wish them all the very best for the future. Once again, our results demonstrate the talent of our students in Morriston, the high standard teaching, along with the outstanding support and guidance our students get from a very dedicated pastoral team.

This year it is important to remember that grade boundaries have risen compared with the last three years. The guidance we received from Welsh Government was that national results for WJEC qualifications will be broadly midway between the results awarded in 2019 (the last year before the pandemic) and 2022 (the first year that learners sat exams as< we emerged from the pandemic).

This makes the achievements of our Year 11 even more commendable, and we very much hope that the great majority will return to our sixth form for A levels.

>b>Some notable GCSE achievements this year include;

Abigail Bromfield with 9 A* and 3 A grades

Megan James with 7 A* and 3 A grades

Nico Ablade with 7 A* and 3 B grades

Alex Mort with 7 A* and 1 A grades

Anya Hicks with 6 A* and 3 A grades

Fantastic A Level / Level 3 BTEC results in Morriston

Huge congratulations to our A level and Level 3 students for achieving excellent results this summer. We are delighted that nearly all our learners who applied to university were accepted on their first choice, without the need to go through the clearing process.

It was fantastic to see so many happy and delighted students collecting their results and we wish them all the very best for the future. Once again, our results demonstrate the talent of our young people in Morriston and the high standard of sixth form teaching, along with the outstanding support and guidance our students get from a very dedicated sixth form team led by Mr Steve Evans, our Director of Sixth form.

It is also important to note that the grade boundaries this year are higher than at any time since the Covid pandemic, making the achievements of our students even more commendable.
