The WJEC GCSE Applied Science (Single Award) specification utlises a context led approach to science learning and assessment. It provides learners with a broad, coherent, practical, satisfying and worthwhile course of study. Studying the GCSE Applied Science (Single Award) to provides insight into, and experience of how science works, whilst stimulating learners’ curiosity and encouraging them to develop an understanding of science, its applications and its relationship to the individual and society.
The Course
The course is taught by one teacher for 4 hours a fortnight.
Assessment
The course will be tested throughout the two years with two external summer exams, a task based exercise and a practical assessment. All exams are 1 hour 30 minutes and worth 80 marks.

Progression
