DEPARTMENT LEADER: Mr A Davies
Here at Morriston we develop our pupils’ scientific understanding using a range of teaching provisions. Our main goal is to develop our pupils to be curious and critical thinkers who are able to make sense of the world around them by asking questions and using their problem-solving skills to find the answers. Teachers use a wide variety of activities and resources, including practical tasks to develop the pupils’ knowledge and to ensure that each and every pupil is able to access the Science curriculum. The ultimate vision for the Science department is to nurture every young person’s curiosity of the world around them and to support them on their path to achieving their full potential.
“Science is fun. Science is curiosity. We all have natural curiosity. Science is a process of investigating. It’s posing questions and coming up with a method. It’s delving in.” Sally Ride (Astronaut and Physicist https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sally_Ride)
