Fantastic A Level / Level 3 BTEC results in Morriston
A huge well done to our A level and Level 3 students for achieving excellent results this summer. We are delighted with the results achieved by our learners in Morriston, and nearly all our learners who applied to university were accepted on their first choice, without the need to go through the clearing process. University is not always the preferred next step after sixth form and we are equally very proud of those students who have secured other training and apprenticeship places on the back of their results today.
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive sixth form, offering a wide range of vocational and academic subjects for a range of abilities. Given this we are delighted that over 24% of our grades this summer were A*-A or equivalent, with 65% being A*-C or equivalent.
It is very important to note that this summer’s results mark the return to the 2019 standards set pre-pandemic. This means that in many subjects, grade boundaries have increased and there have been no allowances made by the examination board for the learning lost during the Covid lockdown. This makes the achievements of our students all the more commendable.
It was fantastic to see so many happy and delighted students collecting their results and we wish them all the very best for the future. Once again, our results demonstrate the talent of our young people in Morriston and the high standard of sixth form teaching, along with the outstanding support and guidance our students get from a very dedicated sixth form team led by Mr Steve Evans, our Director of Sixth form.
Thank you once again for all your support, and congratulations to all the proud parents, carers, and family of your fantastic children. Here are a few examples to show the wide range of exciting courses students will soon be embarking on at university this autumn.
