Congratulations Year 11!
Congratulations and a huge well done to our Year 11 students on their GCSE results today! We were delighted that so many did extremely well, and their success is hugely deserved.
It was fantastic to see so many happy and delighted students collecting their results, and we wish them all the very best for the future. Once again, our results demonstrate the talent of our students, the high standard of teaching and the outstanding support and guidance our children get from a very dedicated pastoral team.
It is important to remember that this Year 11 started their secondary education during the Covid lockdown, meaning learning during those very important early years was seriously affected, this makes the achievements of our Year 11 today even more commendable, and we very much hope that the overwhelming majority will return to our sixth form.
Fantastic A Level / Level 3 BTEC results in Morriston
On behalf of all the staff and governors we want to say a huge well done to our A level and Level 3 students for achieving excellent results this summer. We are delighted that nearly all our learners who applied to university were accepted on their first choice, without the need to go through the clearing process. University is not always the preferred next step after sixth form and we are equally very proud of those students who have secured other training and apprenticeship places on the back of their results today.
In Morriston we pride ourselves on being an inclusive sixth form, offering a wide range of vocational and academic subjects for a range of abilities. We are delighted that results show an improvement on the strong outcomes achieved in 2024 (the first year where grade boundaries returned to pre-covid standards). This year over 25% of grades were A*A or equivalent, with 73% of grades being A*-C or equivalent.
It was fantastic to see so many happy and delighted students collecting their results and we wish them all the very best for the future. Once again, our results demonstrate the talent of our young people in Morriston and the high standard of sixth form teaching, along with the outstanding support and guidance our students get from a very dedicated sixth form team led by Mr Steve Evans, our Director of Sixth form.
