Welcome to our Siarter Iaith page. At Morriston Comprehensive School we are working to make Welsh a visible and natural part of school life. This page will share our progress, activities and useful resources as we work towards the bronze award.

What is Siarter Iaith?

Siarter Iaith is a national initiative which encourages schools to increase the use and visibility of Welsh in everyday school life.

At Ysgol Gyfun Treforys, our aim is to give pupils, staff and our wider school community the confidence and opportunity to use more Welsh — whether that is a simple “Bore da”, using Welsh in lessons, celebrating Welsh culture or taking part in school activities.

Our journey

We are currently working towards the Bronze Siarter Iaith Award.

Behind the scenes, we are following an action plan, gathering evidence and developing opportunities for Welsh across the whole school. This website will act as a live record of our journey, sharing what we have achieved and what we are working on next.
